Actually, you know what I’m really proud of? I’m proud that this guy I adore, Chris Colfer, is finally comfortable enough in his own skin, in a serious relationship, and secure enough with the world he lives in that he feels like he’s able to walk around in public holding hands with another guy and not worry that he’s going to be beaten up or teased or lose his job or worse.
I’m proud that this kid who felt ostracized by his peers throughout his school years and who as recently as a couple of years ago repeatedly proclaimed that he felt like he’d be single forever seems to have met someone with whom he’s made a strong enough connection with to bring him on a trip to Europe. Twice.
And I’m proud that despite being stalked, hounded, harassed, lied about, fetishized, and labeled by this fandom for the last six months, this guy seems to have decided that Chris is worth it.
Basically, I’m proud that Chris Colfer is a young out gay man who isn’t afraid to actually act on his feelings for another man even if he happens to be walking around in front of one of the most crowded public places in a city which is actually pretty well known for its ‘creepy ass paparazzi’.
But since that time they actually caused the death of someone in the British royal family didn’t actually send them a message, I guess you think my little Chris Colfer News freaking tumblr blog taking a stand and not promoting them would have totally gotten the point across to the French paparazzi.
